56k Icon Lotus Eclat restorative detail

This is a slightly older detail, which I haven't been able to post until now. A very unique car, and if I'm honest not one I had seen before working on it. It was also another great opportunity to work with my buddy Matty (matt1234 on here) and have fun along the way
The job description was to remove as many of the swirls and scratches as possible, whilst amping up gloss as much as possible, and crucially leaving as much paint on the body as is possible.

Once the car was given an ONR wash it was placed into the surgery for a deep inspection and mapping

This image pretty much highlights what we are working with

The compounding was done with wool pads on the flex rotary and the last cut compound

The difference in colour, clarity and gloss is crazy

Next up was the top of the wings, of which there was a previously completed touch up.

I cut the top off it, then polished it in, not perfect but much much better

The lowers were less faded, but I would say more deeply swirled, same combos as above, just more hits

After refining the car was waxed with ODK revere, their ceramic wax, brightwork was tidied up and a thorough interior job completed to try to freshen up the old fabrics.
No idea what the total time spent was, but it was a lot.

Here she is with a couple of other classics we had detailed for a show, hosted at our business centre

As always remember, no trickery, no editing (apart from reg plates), same angles shot wherever humanly possible.

Thanks for looking

Lovely to see an old 'un getting the treatment. Loving the contemporary colour, and the interiors on these are a great piece of 70's retro.
