Rubber Mats

Hi All i have some winter mats for my car which are rubber and they need a good clean any suggestions. Am a little unsure what to use as the last product I tried left the mats very slippery.

Cheers In advance.

Hi chum.

I use two techniques. First, just give them a good scrub with APC and a brush. Let them dry, and Robert's your mother's brother.

Second is somewhat subjective. Scrub with APC. Rinse. Spray with carpro PERL diluted around 10:1. Allow to dry. Using some old cheese cloth, dampen the cloth with IPA and wipe thoroughly over the surface. This should remove enough of the product so as not to leave the mat quite as slippery as it would be had you not removed it. It will be a bit slippery though.

They look good though.

AS Rubber & Plastic Dressing, after a thorough cleaning.
Goes on quite shiney but dries to a nice deep black. Non slippy.

Use some APC and agitate with a brush and then rinse, whilst still wet spray some AS Rubber & Plastic Dressing over the mat and let it sit for a few minutes then wipe dry with a MF cloth

Job done

I've cleaned Range Rover rubber mats with APC and a scrubbing brush, then dressed with 303 Aerospace and buffed.

Proper job, in line I should expect with what the other guys above have said to do
