One of my heater vent inserts was missing, luckily I spotted these on eBay the other week and managed to win them:

Looking good Chino!

Cant wait to see this project develop

Kurust is great and works really quick! Used it on a few chips on my bonnet that were deep and had started to rust

Like the idea of the fuchs too, but not 100% on how they will look and could be an expensive experiment haha

Look forward to seeing this later in the year once its sorted

The plan is to get her done ASAP tbh Jonny, I want to be in her for the touring cars at Oulton this year.

Kurust is going to be used on the airbox corrosion under bonnet, I've sorted a detailing sander this weekend so I can get the cabin prepared with zinc-phosphate, idea being the following weekend I can start putting the brand new carpet and seat belts in there. The seats can be disassembled and cleaned, rebuilt, re-padded and re-covered indoors then the nights after work

Loving this thread. I'm aircooled made too. Would look nice on genuine Fuchs. I have 57 beetle and 70 early bay. I would have more but the wife would divorce me. Hmmmmm. So maybe one more lol

I know should be awesome that! Kate has managed wrangle us some passes for the opening meeting as it's at an MSV track, so I'll be at Brands Hatch in March, will definitely be at the Oulton meeting again and hopefully a few more.

The new steering damper has turned up. Hoping this will cure the somewhat floaty steering!

Right, I've just secured a garage for Ruby once she's running again, which will be Sunday hopefully. This also means the Ibiza gets it's carport back

I've also evaluated the order things need to happen:

-Sand/Zinc-Phosphate cabin floor.
-Sort steering dmaper/steering issues
-Get headliner fitted.
-Carpets/seatbelts
-refit re-trimmed interior

So, plan is this weekend to treat the floor pan, get the battery back in and just put the drivers seat and seatbelt in so I can get her into a local garage next week and have the steering sorted whilst I'm at work. Then I can get her to the trimmers next weekend for a new headliner, hopefully.
