That's a poor show for the detailer and I'd have pushed it. The original price was certainly steep for what looks like a £50 valet with a few odd jobs done.

Lovely car though.

Nice car. Old Jags still have class.
You cheeky lemon.

So this happens after 5 days driving does it - at the rear of the car where no one has been?

If you look in the other photos you will see lots of other crevices which would not have become so ingrained through one weeks driving in my clean shirt and trousers after my office job.

If your car gets that dirty after a week of driving I think you should start bathing more often.

Look forward to seeing the stereo updates!
Thanks Cookies. Must admit I think the £765 he charged me for the paintwork was a little over the top as he seemed to have missed an awful lot. He also clearly did nothing to the interior bar hoover the mats. But that's just a lesson learnt really. I should have checked it properly while I was still at his premises so I've learnt a big and expensive lesson.

Been working on the new LCD display, have been testing the RGBS to VGA converter, VGA to HDMI converter and new display. It's 800x480 pixels and I have an Odroid board to provide Android.

The picture was jumping due to a poor Sync so had to make a cleanup circuit using the LM1881 sync stripper chip:

Now the picture is nice and stable; this is the picture you usually see on my standard jaguar 480*240 display, reproduced onto the new 800*480 screen.

This is the Odroid running Android that I shall also have in the car eventually:

This is the circuit diagram for the system setup I am aiming for with the costs:

If they did and that was to condition it came back in I would have been right back there expecting a partial refund and the work done as promised....what a cowboy honestly

Thanks for the great, detailed (no pun intended!) write up Clark
I don't think you have anything to loose to go back to the detailers and show him the photo's you took. He may do nothing, but that's no different to where you are now. On the other hand he might agree to some sort of partial refund. Worth an email in my book.

I do think your Jag does look smashing though!

All the best
Ben

So anyway moving on have to confess I've not taken many pictures of the car itself; however I have been taken them of the garden as we've being doing work to it - which luckily has also featured plenty of the car too. Here are a couple I found that show our old Mercs and the new replacement Jags which I found amusing:

Here's one not long after I got the car back from the detailers:

Then I have some more as we were clearing the garden (important to keep the car clean even when you're doing a lot of work!):

Then we took the car to Wales in May and I though the car looked nice in front of the little cottage we hired for the week, unfortunately this was just Lindsey taking pictures so we could remember what it was like so the car was not the main feature. But it still looks nice:

A couple at the local reseroir:

And one taken at Raglan castle:

Then one of Lindseys work colleagues got married in June. She was originally going to use out old two Mercs as wedding cars; but as Lindsey said to her she got a lucky upgrade and both cars were cleaned inside and out. Unfortunately the rain didn't hold off and it poured down as I was just finishing off... here's some pictures I snapped just as it started to rain.

But luckily the clouds cleared a little later for the wedding. I bought some quick detailer and Microfiber and cleaned of the last of the rain drops just as the bride was getting ready last minute! I got some snaps at the church as everyone was having group photos:

Then lastly I managed a quick snap one evening, the car has been backwards and forwards to work all week but we took a last minute snap in the evening. I think we were actually taking a few snaps of the garden; as you can see its changed somewhat. I'm now finishing the pathway and patio (crazy paving) and then I've got some rendering to do on the house.

If anyone is curious this is what I've been up to.... still a long way to go and the year is running out fast....

Looking at all these its glaringly obvious I have none of the interior! I shall see if I can take some soon and post them.

Beautiful motor Clark, the wheels look great!

Sorry to hear of your woes with the 'detailer' Hope it gets up to your usual standards soon

A lovely motor, in some lights it looks dark blue and others black.
