Is there any way of removing scuff marks on the door glass? It seems someone has tried, unsuccessfully, to smash the passenger glass but its left some scuff marks.
do u mean its scratched? if its scratched i just use a body work scratch remover, but only use one for light surface scratches, or you will wear away the glass to much.
Just had a stone chip filled by Auto glass and was asking the feller how to remove scratches, (don’t let the mrs and a diamond ring wash the glass)
his answer was you have to be careful as the rubbing action can cause a distortion in the glass especially in the line of sight
Attaches to your drill on the highest possible speed, mix up the paste, apply to the felt bob, keep it wet and away you go.
As said before, if you take off too much then it changes the optics of the glass and can be more noticeable than before
It will make a mess, there's splatter everywhere :doublesho
Taping a rag round the area you're working should help.
As it's a side glass it will be toughened, and as such is even harder to polish out scratches than with a laminated windscreen. If you go too far it will shatter.
If you can catch your nail on the scratch then you'll never remove it for light scratches ask a local glass merchant for some jewellers rouge comes in powder form add water and polish. You may need to machine polish them however as applying by hand will not give great results.
I have some scratches on my drivers window caused by grit on one of the guides - tried the autoglymn car glass polish but it made no impact.
I also have a bottle of autoglyms paint renovator and was wondering if that might reduce them.
