Cheaper alternative to R222 Gel wheel cleaner

I saw that you can get R222 Gel wheel cleaner which is supposedly a gel cleaner that clings onto alloys for ages. And it is a very safe mild cleaner that “can be left on the wheel up to 2hrs”.
It sounds really good. And something I think would fit into my regime perfectly. But it’s £22 for 1L and apparently gel wheel cleaners don’t go very far.
Are there any cheaper alternatives out there? Or maybe cleaners that can be left for ages? I find my cleaners are drying witching 5 mins and has already ruined one set of lug covers.

Got to be Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel?

You'll struggle to find a better wheel cleaner or have you already tried it and found it's not suitable for your needs?

I went into the shop and they were out of stock of auto wheel. So picked up korrosol instead, and was told it was very similar. But I found I sprayed it on and it made little difference.

Is auto wheel much different?

Quoted from a reply in this thread discussing the difference between the two (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=301059) by Bilt Hamber themselves: "Auto-wheel has a higher degreaser level and increased viscosity for longer cling." So they are very similar, but Auto Wheel is better-suited for use on wheels and will clean more effectively.
