Question Hobby polish machine.

Hi,
I am looking to get a new polish machine DA for hobby use.
I have a das 6 pro but is old and needs replacement so i look for a good one, not to heavy to use, no high vibration, should have a little quality feel and good performance. Will be used maybe 10 times a year considering some friends would like to borrow it.
- Must be able to do an entire car without using another one for smaller areas.
Until now i have considered
1 Das 6 pro plus - as is described as faster correction than 6 pro.
2 Flex XC 3401 VRG - quite expensive 300GBP - but if delivers much better/faster result can be the right choice.
3 - Rupes duetto
4 - Rupes 15 / 21 - nut shore if with 21 i can do the entire care considering small areas need to be done.
5 - Vertool 'Force Drive' - i think a copy of the flex but 100gbp cheaper.

Please come with a proposal for me as i am undecided and no expert at all.
Is just a hobby to get relaxed so the tool must not irritate me while trying to relax
Other can be included i have only looked at some fist options.

Thanks

That is the key where buying one machine for one car may be adequate, those tighter curves necessitate a smaller pad, plus the smaller machines in isolation a challenge on any bigger car.

Would you want to pay big bucks for something for others to us, lend them your Das6, either of your options are suitable, perhaps dependent on budget, although some assurance of improved performance. A one stage will only enhance the paint, a two stage a better option for swirl removal where the final result is key over above time taken, other than in the business environment where time is money.

For me the Rupes, 21 bests of both worlds.

Good luck John Tht.

As much as I would like to say buy one of the big throw Rupes machines (I have a 15 and love it) I can't, reason being there is no way you can do a full car with one properly. You will always need a machine with a smaller pad as well.
A good compromise would be a Duetto and get a kamikazi 3 inch backing plate as well.

Thanks' for the help.
I have seen the Rupes I is about 280gbp. Is it worth compared to the Rupes II 350gbp?
I incline over the Rupes for beeing safer to use than the flex and better than the das6proplus and the feel good factor to have one. The 15 i think is more suitable for me as hobby and my medium size bmw e90 bmw e60 and audi a8.

I own a vertool force drive
Must say I am extremely impressed with the performance of it so far.
With it being gear driven it doesn't bog down so is 'unstoppable'
I'm putting it under some real pressure with a car tomorrow but so far very impressed

Sent by a phone of some description!

The 15 is a great machine, no doubt about it but I still think you will want another machine with a smaller pad to get everywhere on the car.

Personally would get the Duetto and buy the 3inch kamikaze backingplate.
Have a look out for a post from raven about a golf R20 detail on this forum.

This is good advice unless you want two machines.

I have been looking a little on forums and i agree on the duetto. It is possible to do the entire car, curves and all. Could be used as sander so 2000 3000 grid wet sanding can be done. This is time saving.
Small, light, precise, sander, good for high quality finishes, apply wax, sealent..good quality product and the fact I want it just for hobby so no intention to have an arsenal of machines made me decide to get it.
Now i have to find the best price
If there is an offer, let me know.
Thanks to all.
