Homemade leather degreaser

Hi

I'm planning to redye the scuffs and wear on my black leather seats. I'm told besides using a good leather cleaner prior to dying I need to degrease the seats also.Recommended leather degreaser such as those by Glipthone and Colourlock are not available for shipping and I can't find any dedicated leather degreaser product here in Malaysia.

Any other homemade alternatives to degrease the surface? There was a suggestion to use lighter fluid but seems people are saying it's a no no on the web.

Deep clean and then prep with an Alcohol Wash and this should be enough. Degreasers are more for ingrained body oils etc that you don't normally get on car seats.
We do have a liquid degreaser that can be shipped if you really need one.
Hope this helps

Thanks very much Judyb.

Very helpful info. I won't be needing the degreaser. With regards to the alcohol wash, are you referring to isopropyl alcohol?
