Question Any consensus on painted or powderd?

So what is THE best, most durable for wheels, paint (2k prime, epoxy / etch) base/colour and 2k clear or powder coat, including clear ?

Paint for sure. I've tried both a few times and powder coat chips easier and the finish is not on par with a clear coat.

Powder coat will be considerably thicker, so as protection from brake dust etc, it's going to be considerably better than paint. There's simply more of it to get cratered away by embedded rusting iron particles.

The best finish will be a wet sprayed colour and powder clear. This will provide a smooth colour coat with a tough clear coat on top. This is what Rimstock do on new wheels (with a powder primer). Likewise, BBS use a powder clear coat. A powder colour coat will not have as smooth a finish.

So no clear (no pun intended) winner, however spraying could be DIY unlike powder.
Any anything wrong or inferior with a 2k Epoxy primer, colour and 2k clear finish then? Any 2k clears to avoid / would something like Max Meyer 200 be fine, and applied thicker/ more coats say 4 or 5 than usual ?

Cheers
