Nice motor, a remap will certainly wake it up. Presume you have noticed you have a wheel bolt missing!

Beast of a car, and now an owner that'll take care of her
Test drove one when I was looking for a beemer, but dropped to the 3 series due to my driveway being so short haha!

Look out for the water collecting under the cabin filters. My brother has an E61 550i and it killed his brake servo

You bought a car from Maryport?? Brave brave man!!!

It looks a decent base although it obviously hasn't been looked after how it should have been, especially the wheels....and who fits budgets to a car like that, madness!

I hope you'll be replacing the wheel bolts too when the wheels get a refub'?.....BMW bolts seem to corrode for fun.

Tell me about the tyres, its one thing I never like to skimp on, Already got some shiny new bolts with locking bolts as 3 of the wheels were missing a bolt.

Nice motor, must sound lovely even on tick over! Love the look of these.

Brave buying a motor with no history at all? But I guess if the seller was genuine enough?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't BMW have a central database for service history?
Worth a shot contacting them, they might be able to trace most of it down before it went to independent garages?

Surprised after all these years though, that BMW's still seem to suffer with base plate corrosion, I remember refurbishing them on my E36!

Good luck with the project, I'll keep my eye on this one!

BMW dealers will read the key and provide a print off for you, usually for no cost.

I'm pretty sure BMW dealers can only see service carried out if it's as done under a service package or warranty.. But I could be wrong. Always worth a try anyway
