Black spots on wheel

Hey all

Have noticed a slight build up of black spots on my alloys which are hard to shift. Any thoughts on products that will remove these easily?

Advice welcome.

Depends on what they are - could be fallout, could be tar ?

Fallout remover or tar remover would be first port of call - if you have either, try that first (as it's not going to cost you)

I've had great experiences with bilt hamber auto wheel. I believe it is a fallout remover with degreasing/ cleaning properties so is particularly useful for caked up wheels. It's a bit more expensive - about £13 for a litre from in2detailing. I'd say if you have a fallout remover give it a go then try this otherwise your shout as fallout removers/ tar removers can be a bit cheaper.

Here's my result on my car which does 300-500 miles per week. (After about 1k miles)

Most likely tar but could also be rubber or even excess tyre product. If they are not coming off with a normal wash/wheel cleaner then try a tar remover. Be sure to thoroughly rinse after use.

Spot on (pardon the pun!)

Also tar remover is cheaper than fallout remover, so hit wheels with tar remover first, then fallout remover.
