Niall, you are a bad, bad, bad, bad man!

I desperately want 19s or 20's! Either the VXR wheels or ones called Atomics.....however, I'd rather throw £500 at the Rallye at the mo!

Just writing an update with today's polishing escapades. Now I've figured the technique, this Flex polisher is really beginning to show what's its capable of and the results are incredible

Another day, another cuppa and a bit more polishing.

Awake stupid early so outside ready to start pre 9am. Started on the rear driver's side passenger door (and yes, thats me lying down!) A few odd scuffs at the bottom of this door…not sure how they got there as there is a bit of the sill that sticks out further and it unmarked.

This door had already had some love from my polisher a few weeks previously and has had paint so again I went at it gently. White LC pad, final finish and extended work time and got some more great results and a decent reflection

Stopped for a brew at this point and when I came back out, the sun was out and I could clearly see the difference between the two doors. Unfortunately, my Fisher Price phone couldn't see it as well….it could, however, see the **** poor paint job and zebra stripes in the rear door…..

Ahem. Moving on. Drivers door had plenty of defects going on.

Power finish had something to say about that.

As Cookies said in another thread, it finishes down very, very well. I extended the work time with it and the results are as above. However this door has had paint too and a stripe at the front edge edge where it meets the wing. Tell tale pigtails too….

And the stripe…

Painted with a live chicken I think……

Front wing? Lots of swirling and a couple of meaty RDS’s

This is the finish from one set with a yellow pad and power finish with a longer work time.

Had a few jobs to do today and neighbour took me out for lunch to try and pick me up a bit then had to go to the scrap yard and get some ford speaker plugs to put the factory speakers back in the Mondeo before it goes tomorrow. Then spent the rest of the afternoon evening taking all my stuff out of it…..

More tomorrow. Shoulders and arms are killing me!

The power finish is making mincemeat of those defects chum. You're getting brilliant results there buddy. Keep her lit!

On the wheel front, there's a set of 18" VXR replicas on Gumtree, local to me for 175 quid... They could do with a lick of paint though.

I think the edges should rub down and tidy nicely, if you fancied another wee project lol.

Sorely tempted though if I were to change the wheels, I'd have to go bigger....current ones are 18's

Roger. That's why I didn't link them in the original post chum.

I'll keep the eyes peeled for a nice set of 19s at good money.

Have found the love for detailing again. It's helped keep my mind off other things too....

Rolled her forward into the sunshine to make sure there were no holograms or anything after finishing down....this crap phone doesn't do it any justice with this pic but never mind. It looks a whole lot better in person ...

Looks lovely chap, I do like the Insignia in black.

It's always good to have a hobby to take your mind off things. Chin up!
