56k Icon Solid black Alfa 4C Dealer hack

The holograms just keep on coming here
An appropriate meme for the job

Ok so this car was booked in for a standard new car prep, but as soon as I started to wash it I knew it was going to turn into something else

It went through all the usual wash and decontamination stages to get a nice clean base

And was then placed in the surgery for all its horrors to be illuminated. And to be taped up.....

This was the point where I had to ring the owner to formulate a new plan. It was way past robitussin. We agreed to dial back some of the job in order to make more time for extra machine work. And the budget was adjusted. So I started with the holograms

Then some of the lesser sanding marks were removed, others reduced

Then the whole car was refined with essence, and left for an hour before removal

A testing job for sure. Horrid paint to polish, awkward car, but man she is a thing of beauty. She is not perfect, I would say it is 80% there. So please be mindful that as always I am honest with my lighting. No trickery, no wide side shots, lighting not turned to face the wall and not diffused. Whats left is left after 5 full days

stangalang,

It fair makes you want to weep to see such a wonderful car so carelessly released from the factory. But a great recovery on a car that deserves it! Well up to your usual quality.

Thanks for showing it to us.

Now, now it looks pretty! The quality of dealer prep never ceases to amaze me - not in a good way.
Bet the owner was well pleased when he saw the fruits of your labour Matt!

Was the majority of damage from the factory or the dealership prep?

Stunning turnaround

The number of times people have said to me that my cars are like new and I have to bite my tongue from saying that they are far better than new as I don't want to come across as an ****. If people only knew how bad the paint on new cars actually is they'd be horrified.

As ever stangalang, your work is great and as you say it's honest. What I'd give for a fraction of your talent. Another good read!
