New 540i - first wash!

Hi All,
Picked up my new 540i a few weeks back. Dealer did a decent first wash, but since then it chucked it down and after 600 miles it was filthy. Had day off work so decided nice wash and then application of some protection. I had bought some AF powerseal. Never used it before but liked the idea of applying via rotary and the 'wiping' off. So out came the flex after the obligatory 2BW, etc. Got some pretty good shine and hopefully protection. Might do the wifes 420d with the same stuff in the coming weeks...

Hopefully all the pics come out, sorry for all of them but sure why not while I'm here.

It is sophisto grey, ivory white nappa seats and popular wood trim. I think its a nice combo.

Thanks all.

Oh la la, very nice like a leather space ship......you will need some protection on those seats, they sit well for a big car so that darker paint will keep you on your toes. Using some AF product recently the aqua towel are great plus the Uno...

Good luck, John Tht.

Funny you should mention that. Have a bit of the ol jean transfer even though put on some AF hide conditioner. The cleaner doesn’t shift it at all... got some dodo juice coming so I’ll see if that does the trick. Tried some dr leather wipes and it doesn’t do it either...

Maybe should have gone brown leather 🤨

Thanks all. She’s a nice bus alright. Rides better than the f11 mainly due to variable dampers. Ill let you know how the power shell goes. Hopefully a good few months of protection.

Might take the wheels off at some point and add a bit of wax to them. Help them through winter. Normally swap to winter wheels but haven’t bought any yet and don’t think bank balance can stretch at the moment.

Lovely car! I have always liked the estates, the colour combo looks great, although you're a braver man than me with cream seats.

Cracking engine choice too! enjoy.
