Pre-wax: what to use

Got a quick question...

Going to be giving my ST a polish this week and wanted to make sure the prep for wax is spot on.

Is it worth getting a pre-wax cleanser such as lime prime or would a AIO product work such as tripple?

Thanks

Both an AIO and a pre wax cleanser will both remove previous waxes and chemically cleanse the panel. Some to most will have either fillers or oils that will help improve the finish

The extra protection added by an AIO 'sometimes' interfere with the bond of your chosen wax or sealant and may slightly reduce outright durability but not by much at all. If you get a combo that work well together you'll see very little if any difference in performance.

What products do you have and plan on using?

Well I don't have a pre-wax cleaner at the minute but do have Tripple handy... I plan on doing a full correction using the Autobrite Correct It range with ********** ****** Glaze to finish off.

Thanks

Lime prime really does and a little extra when used and works great with a wax.

I've used AG SRP today applied via DA and wow. I love SRP anyway but applied by DA it's awesome, left a slick deep finish ready for wax on my black paint; in this case dodo juice blue velvet

If your car paint is swirl free or if you want to apply a sealant than a pure paint cleanser or a resin based AIO is a must. Look for
- Serious performance paint cleanser
- Optimum poli-seal
- Bilt hamber cleanser polish
- Poorboys professional polish
- dodo juice supernatural micro prime
- prima amigo
- AF tough prep...

But if your plan is to just use a wax as your LSP than it doesnt matter which of the products you use. You could even go for oil based pre-wax cleansers to enhance your paintwork to a wetter looking one. Go for
- AF tripple
- Dodo juice lime prime or lime prime lite
- R222
- Victorias
- Sonus
- Zymol...

And I agree R222 is brilliant!
