I echo your thoughts there Kerr with the in car refinements BMW put into the Z4's.

Watch the lid of the ashtray/storage compartment as the mechanism breaks easily.
Stereo is shocking but it's that engine note that I bought ours for as they do sound very nice indeed.

I ended up putting the weighted M Sport ZHP gearknob in ours, a little stubbier and heavier which helped with the gear change, a subtle but easy mod. If you go for that, make sure you don't knock yourself out with the old one as you yank it off!!

Also, it's an easy job, but I'd look to remove the CDV, clutch delay valve, if it hasn't already been done. It'll help massively with the gear changes.

Another easy mod is to change the footwell lights for LED units, cheap easy mod.

New toy looks good.... I did like my Z4, it was a nice car to drive...

as above, get rid of the CDV, and if the coupe has the same as the cabrio, the sound mod helps the engine to sing a bit more in the cabin, it made a good difference with the roof down... easy to do as well...

Looks a nice car, guy I bought my 650 from has the an ex BMW GB Z4M press car in Imola Red - only done about 6,000 miles and is understandably mint, sits alongside his e30 M3

Can't see Z4 coupes getting any cheaper and still look really good. Not normally a fan of two tone wheels but they look good and the interior is all the better for the red - really lifts it

Nice car, I very nearly bought one of these last year, even test drove a few... then I bought a van instead?! Go figure. I'll be keen to see this one progress.

After one week there is .......zero progress.

I'm trying to freshen the smell up a bit first. The stereo needs addressed next. I'll hopefully get along somewhere soon for modernisation and some sound quality.

Reverting to CDs and FM radio through tin can speakers is too much even for short trips.

The car has the most basic 6 speaker setup. How much there is to upgrade without spending a lot will soon to be seen. Bluetooth, USB and DAB would make a good start.

Regarding the cup holders you know to push the arm in the clamp the cup?

Looks like it could be Lucy’s old car, would had paint on near side front if so.

See you over on z4-forum.com no doubt.

If the Z4 has fibre optic stereo cabling then it's only EVER going to be expensive as it's nog a straight swap out.

If it is fibre optic based then the Dension Gateway option can give you Bluetooth, iPod, aux in and USB connections - weather permitting will be doing mine this weekend
