My C2 Wheel Wax Review

sample arrived yesterday when i got in and cracked straight on with it wheels cleaned and fully prepped as expected

first of all please excuse the state of the wheels they are in need of a refurb but can wait until after testing now

just on opening the pot there wasn't much in terms of smell and the pour did look a bit rough (i imagine this will change for the finished products upon release )

so application.... applicator was loaded up very easily with just half a turn of the pad and this was enough to do half of the wheels ( 18's ), wax spread very easy and never found it grabby or dragging at any point

was left approx 6-8 minutes before being removed via shortpile MF cloth, it came off as easy as it went on and really was a pleasure to use. I did notice after the wax had been agitated that the scent came out a little but was noticable unless you really got up close and sniffed the pot

i certainly felt the wax added gloss the the wheels too, as for cleaning and maintenance i will do one side of the car with just car shampoo and the other side i'll try a very light dilution of wheel cleaner to see how much effect this has on the wax

i think the only things i could change are the colour, scent and maybe the pour to as these will all add to the presentation and help sell the product upon release

all in all though this is a cracking little product that goes on and comes off with 0 effort needed and i'll certainly be looking at adding a pot of the finished product to my collection!

thanks again for the oppertunity to help

here's a few pictures i got

so first update on how things are going

it's been a month since application and they've had about half a dozen washes with only shampoo and not seen any wheel cleaner or other harsh chemicals

they still look as glossy as when it was first applied and they're still sheeting the water although it's not quite as good as when applied obviously

keep an eye out for future updates

So looks like mines come to the end of it's life span although still looking glossy there was an evident lack of beading to indicate protection so I took the oppertunity to take all 4 wheels off for a deep clean and reapply the wax this time to both the face and the barrel of the wheel! It's certainly done it's job anyway as there was an evident lack of iron particles on the face of the wheel where the wax had been applied compared to the barrel which hadn't!

Same process again though for washes with just shampoo to be used and I'll be reporting back over the coming months (hopefully longer this time) with how it's doing

Thanks for the review Lewis, currently looking for a decent wheel wax. I've not applied any to the wheels before but want some before winter.

What would you recommend?

I'll be fair with you here Chris I've not tried all too many wheel waxes/sealants

I don't think VP have any plans for this to be released yet unless they can tell us otherwise?

This tbf is a nice wax even though I only got 3 months out of a single coat it's lasted me around 4000 miles which is decent enough though and certainly made the wheel nice and glossy and a lot easier to clean too!

If I was looking to buy something on the open market and wanted durability maybe look at a coating type product such as c5 or dlux

I wasn't able to try this out unfortunately, but have used Raceglaze nano wheel sealant and been very pleased with it.

Very easy to apply and buff up and if 2 coats should give 6 months protection, but it's that easy to apply, you can easily top up

well sadly this test has come to a premature end as I've sold the car at the weekend

hopefully though enough was done in the first test to help with R&D

Not at the moment. We are still looking at how we can make improvements to this product.

We are also moving to a new site where we are investing in our production and research and development capability. We should be up and running in our new site in April so the latter part of this year you should start to see some product developments.
