Old oil stain on carpet.

I have an old oils stain (prob 5/6 years old) about the size of my thumb nail on a dark grey carpet. Will it still lift after all these years and if so what will lift it?

Wet vac will be the best option, if not scrub with an all purpose cleaner and stiff brush and lift off the dirt with a damp cloth, this has worked in the past but not sure if the stains have been that old

use steam cleaner you can buy a very cheap small one from ebay that use carpet clean with the small attachment no need to buy dedicated machine.
