No, it was a Labrador.

Was that somewhat tongue in cheek remark?

Dexter Neal was bitten by an American Bulldog in Parker Way, Halstead, at 17:40 BST on Thursday, according to the report on BBC news website.

Christ if labradors are in the top 5 of killer dogs someone tell the blind society.just to play devil's advocate here. But seriously there should be much tighter control on the availability of dogs to buy. What would happen if there was a full no dogs to be kept as pets law passed ? Obviously it would be heartbreaking for people to have to give up a pet. But in all honesty if it saved just one child's life is it not worth it ?

why do you have to start becoming personal as you always do.
Glade to see your starting to think the right way when it comes to the dog biting seen.
The reason the lab is top is not so much to do with the numbers, but to do with the mentality of people

What about size?

“A larger dog is more likely to make people back off before he needs to take it further
whereas people might ignore the warnings from a little dog.”
All I know is I'd rather have a Jack Russell attack me for 1 minute than a staff etc. An why do people go for staff's rottweilers etc ? All dogs offer the same level of love an loyalty surely ?

A lab has the same pain threshold as a pitbull? Seriously?

Why are you fixated on pitbulls and labs? Almost any dog can cause fatal injuries, hence why I'm saying any dog that attacks in the way we are discussing should be destroyed, although you'd probably want it rehomed whilst blaming the owner

I could go on but there's no point as you post such dribble, and yet another thread your involved in will get closed. And for that reason, I'm out.

Toodle pip

A lab and a pit bull are exactly the same, they both have about the same power in there jaws, both have teeth and both are of a size and powerful enough to cause serious injury and even death, but that goes for all dogs. having baggy skin has nothing to do with a dog attacking a human.
I have not said the dog should be rehomed. it should be destroyed as any dog that does such should, but what i did say is its more down to the owner than the actual dog. That same dog in the hands of a better owner would most possible of been a well balanced pet. I stand by that what ever the breed is.
If what i am saying is all dribble as you put it, then fair enough, you dont have to read it, but it is all backed up with facts. You can always put up your own facts that prove me wrong, although yours are only you own opinions and not facts.
As for this thread being closed so far you are the only one getting personal.
If you cant handle the truth than maybe you are better of keeping off this thread.

The ability of a dog to be able to turn around in it's skin is a new one to me I must admit. These bull breeds will be capable of flight next!

I don't think anyone disagrees that a dog should be put to sleep if it attacks or kills a person.

The issue for me personally and I suspect others is that as research has shown the root cause for these issues mainly lie squarely with the owner and also in many cases sadly the parents where a child is involved.

Toodle pip indeed
well said sir.
