Chemical guys honeydew vs Envy bubbly jubbly review

Hi all

I purchased these two snow foams to try and find out what the hype was all about, I've used good foam in the past namely valet pro neutral and citrus, CG maxi suds 2 and super snow foam but I like to try a lot of different products so figured these two would be my next choice.

Products:

Envy bubbly jubbly, the bubblegum smell that hits you when you first open the clear bottle is sublime, it's a properly nice smell not that smell has much to do with the job but it's a nice touch, a pale colour liquid which is watery in consistency, nice easy to read label with good instruction.

What Envy say:

Envy Valeting's very own take on snow foam.Thick and creamy and used in most of our detailing. Depending on water softness will generally look like shaving foam!

Limit the hands on aspect of your wash regime, and reduce the risk of swirls and scratches. A step in the right direction for a touchless wash.
Wax and LSP safe, biodegradeable as as close to pH neutral as we could manage.

Please note this is the NEW version and is not re-branded nor made for ANYONE else.

Chemical guys honeydew snow foam, again the smell that you are greeted with is a wonderful melon fragrance, a dark green coloured fluid slowly pours out like treacle, a clear bottle with a very nice label and again nice easy to read instructions.

What CG say:

Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow-Foam Car Foamer is a pH balanced luxury auto wash that emulsifies dirt and grime enabling it to be gently lifted off the surface.
Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam is engineered to create millions of tiny close-grouping cleaning bubbles. It can be used as a traditional soap and diluted in a bucket or used with a Foam Gun, Foam Lance, or Foam Washer to maximize foam coverage to deliver a thick rich blanket of surface clinging snow foam. Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow-Foam is tough on dirt, grime, and environmental contaminants yet gentle on all paint as well as all waxed and sealed surfaces. The pH-neutral formula lifts dirt and grime away from paint where it can be safely rinsed away.
The Honeydew extract formulation not only cleans surfaces delivering a bright spot-free shine it produces a fresh natural honeydew smell thats simply delicious. Honeydew Snow Foam Car Shampoo is developed to be safe on all vehicle surfaces including paint, rubber, vinyl, glass and plastics. It can also be used on gel coat finishes as well as boats, RV’s and jet skis. Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow for is free of all CFCs and solvents and like all Chemical Guys Soaps, it is fully biodegradable. We developed it with Mother Earth in mind so Honeydew Snow Foam meets all VOC regulations.
The unique formulation of Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam is also engineered with water softeners designed to reduce hard water spots caused by calcium.
pH Neutral and safe on all surfaces
Smells Fantastic!
High foaming formula
Can be used as a shampoo or dedictaed snow foam
Biodegradable, environmentlay friendly formula

Method:

Envy say to use 100-150ml in a litre/snow foam bottle and CG tell you to use 1-2oz (30-60ml) in your bottle, for a fair test I followed the CG amount for both using 2oz/60ml of cold water, gave the bottles a shake for 30 seconds before use and both applied to dry cars. Test was performed in the evening with temperature around 12 degrees using a karcher and cyc foam lance.

Chemical Guys honeydew application:

After 2-3 minutes:

After 5-6 minutes:

Envy bubbly jubbly application:

After 2-3 minutes:

After 5-6 minutes:

Conclusion:

As you can see after the 2-3 minute mark the CG really starts to drop off whereas the Envy is still dwelling nicely and by the time 5 minutes arrives the Envy is still dwelling well as opposed to the CG which has weakened significantly, the cleaning power of both is actually pretty close with noticeable dirt encapsulated within both foams, the red swift being a bit dirtier than the blue Z, both rinsed off with ease leaving no trace behind, if I were to choose which smells best I couldn't actually say as they both smell absolutely delicious.

I believe the bubbly jubbly would be even thicker with better cleaning power had their recommended amount been used, I will use that next time I use it and report back on it.

For me overall the Envy wins due to the cleaning power being basically the same as honeydew, the value for money far surpasses CG and the thickness and dwell time are noticeably better.

Price:

Envy: 1l £8.99
5l £18.99
25l £45.00

CG: 473ml £8.95
3.74l £29.95

Would i use them again:

Despite Envy winning I would still use the CG honeydew again, one for the smell alone and two when pre washing a really dirty car or a car with no LSP on it using 100-150ml to see if that improves the experience, it can also be used as a shampoo claim CG. But my newfound favourite is Envy bubbly jubbly, I shall in due course be ordering a 5l bottle, a great product which out performs some big names at a fraction of the price!

Hope that helps some people

Cheers for reading
