I'm washing, drying, claying, and two or three passes with SRP before applying the HD wax, so the prep IS good

Just the sponges are now getting saturated, and I can't wash them as they go waterproof, and then they retain MORE water and ruin the application.

What is the best way to clean them? Washing up liquid? Throw in the washing machine with Persil Colour?!

Leave to soak over night in washing up liquid and then rinse well and allow to air dry , I then made them damp again after they were clean and placed them in a ziploc bag ready for next time.

Ive just got some of this wax myself, which Im going to try this week after a thorough clay session and a couple of passes with super resin polish too. Is this a good enough preparation?

Ive read on the package to dampen the sponge first before application?

What degree of 'damp' do I need? Just a light sprinkling with water?

Im liking the water beading on the picture above, does it produce a good shine when polished properly first?

claying the car then a couple of passes with srp will be plenty if prep mate,

if it is a new pot the red sponge will be ok to use out of the bag, if not then wet it so make it soft then ring it out as much as possible,

hope that helps u mate

Glad to see so many positve threads on here about HD and the water beading pictures look great. We also take on board your comments about the applicators as we appreciate this is an element to the kit that may have some room for improvement...watch this space!

i han't been using the aplicators didn't like them at all, i have been applying by hand (no applicator) and have been impressed with the results and get a nice thin layer maybe due to warmth ?

but so far i am happy with it and it seem's to last well
