Drying Towels - 'residual dampness'

I have used a few drying towels over the years, and all, once they are noticeably damp (so well before the point where you would be able to wring anything out of them) have experienced leaving a damp film over the surface (noticeable in particular on glass). This is irrespective of weather conditions

The only way to get rid of it is to go over with a bone-dry MF/towel.

Is this normal?

I was thinking of truing a silverback; do they do this too?

I only dry glass with a waffle weave towel- currently race glaze

For bodywork- I switched to lightweight drying towels years ago and never looked back, in my opinion superior in every way to the heavier towels which never worked well for me, particularly when it came to washing and drying- which took forever :tumbleweed:

I find if they are not washed properly I get that, as they do not absorb the water correctly.

I always use wash liquid and vinegar in the softener drawer.

Tumble dry on a low heat, but not until bone dry. I then let them dry naturally.

I too prefer the smaller towels, and use Purple Monsters.
