Ceramic coatings and rain

Right firstly, 3 different weather apps said it wasn't going to rain today I will put that out there first,

Quarter way thru putting the second coating of CQUK on my car it started to spit with rain, I got a waterproof car cover out but the paint had already got slightly wet,

What's going to happen to it? I hadn't yet put the spray protection spray on it, is it knackered now?

Also I still have way over half a bottle of coating left, can I give my car a very thorough wash with reload next weekend then finish doing the second coat or even put a whole new coat on it? or is it a case of once its hardened that's it? as surely the rest of the bottle would be wasted? I had kept the top on the bottle the whole time I was doing the process.

Anyone shed any light please?

Moisture will make the coating difficult to harden, and worst case it'll leave massive smears on the paint.

What I would suggest is get it dry with some towels, check for smears and get some Reload on there as soon as possible.

An example I have is: I was coating a car and stupidly I did the roof last. As I was doing the roof the moisture from my forearm touched the top of the doors and I had to rebuff that again otherwise it was smearing the coating I applied about 40mins earlier. It already was hardening and it was a mission.

Hours later I found a bit I missed and the smear had set hard... still have to polish that out and revisit that section.

The water may effect the bonding of the cquartz, dry it immediately and keep it out the rain for an hour and it shouldn't have any major effect.

if you plan to use another layer, this can be done a week later this is no problem.
Strong wash with reset shampoo after 7 days minimum (no chemicals should be used to clean coating in first 7 days)
Then use eraser or panel wipe before applying another layer of CQUK

Kind Regards
Craig
