thanks for the support/encouragement guys! i gambled and went over the area with compound again and its coming back to how it should be. I think those 3m products are messing with me. Ive read somewhere the extra fine cut can look good but over 24 hours change to "not so good". And im experiencing something like that. I do the fine cut and it looks great, come back the next day and its all hazey, maybe its because i keep running out of time/daylight so not getting the ultrafine on straight after.

anyway im glad i can just get back to hacking away at my swirls now

Are you using any panel wipe after you've corrected it.

no, only IPA if its not buffing straight off. Would it be a good idea to do that by default?

Upol panel wipe every time. IPA if not mixed correctly can cause problems of its own bud.
