White car - marks after rain from trim.

The wife's white car has a few black marks under the trim and side indicator lights after it has rained.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this ?

You mean black streaks?

Welcome to the world of white car ownership. No matter how well you clean there are areas you simply can't get into to wash and dry and when it rains the dirt tends to run from these areas causing black marks/streaks. The usual suspect areas are the doors below the wing mirrors, side indicators, door shuts etc. Not much you can do I'm afraid.

Ditto what he said ^
For my wife's car it's especially noticeable as streaks running down from the wing mirrors.
It's definitely not trim dressing as I only used Gtechniq C4 on them after a thorough decon about 6 yrs ago!

I don't notice this on my orange car.....it's just on our white car

Hi

Had this on wife's White KIA Sportage, took me ages to work it out, found built up of dirt as she didn't use it enough, cleaned deep into door handles, wing mirrors, and even on back window get in deep to glass and now all black run marks on bodywork gone, even made the black plastic trim streak white? This is prob with owning a white car, good luck:thumb

Regular cleaning and waxing will help to keep them minimised in my experience.. I gave my white car it's first proper wash and wax of the year.. White Diamond Show Glaze and Dodo Juice Purple Haze wax... worked a treat!!

I use Autofinese spray wax as a drying aid for my routine washes, again works a treat.

Clean the problem areas with a good APC ensuring it’s thoroughly clean. Apply dressing to black trim. Gtechniq trim does not run.

I’ve not had black marks from trim products running on any of my white cars. Also try a dryer to thoroughly dry nooks and crannies
