Not getting the foam i want.....

Hi,

So i have the CYC foam gun and a K4 full control pressure washer.

both new, i set it up and with Chemical guys honey dew, Valet pro Combo 2 and avalanche foams i'm still not getting more then a watery thin layer that is gone literally 10 seconds later.....

i googled and found about the smaller nozzles, so went doe the smaller 1.1mm nozzle from amazon/china.

this made zero difference, i stripped and cleaned the gun and still nothing.... (including the gauze )

What am i doing wrong here? anything else i can check?

Cheers
Andy

PS i should add, i want a thick foam to extend dwelling on my Green star that i apply with a pump sprayer as at the minute its drying by the time i get round the car (estate) so doesn't have much time to dwell.
also sometimes i just want to see the car foamy lol

What dilution ratio you putting in the Lance?
And does twisting the knob on top make a difference?
How old is the Lance?

just checking, its CYC foam lance i take it. I cant remember who's mine is as its years old now. If i turn the +- on the top all the way to + it isn't that thick and looks similar to the above, turn it backwards slightly towards - and it thickens, carry on and it will get thinner and thinner of course. Dont know the reason why mine does it but just a suggestion. I pull the trigger and adjust it while its running if im not happy with the foam

So that was 2 inches of avalanche in a 1 litre bottle as per instructions, with the CG honey dew i followed there instruction to the T, warm water ect, even tried loads but still the same.

the knob on top does make a difference but thats on the max, if i turn it the other way it becomes more diluted with water / worse

lance in under a year old but been like that since day one. tried cleaning the gauze, and smaller nozzle jet.

i feel like it needs more air? might take a look at how these lances work.

i think my K4 is enough pressure as ive seen people get better results with smaller, cheaper washers.... ? it the stock K4 gun i plug it into.... although i need a longer better hose for it.

might check the inlet filter on it maybe? but tbh the pressure is there! okay its not as powerful as the industrial Kartcher at work (the grey ones) but thats to be expected...

cheers for the help

yeah CYC, its a good quality item, nothing cheap on it, its just not foaming for me....

i did try exactly that today but from full max, it only got less foamy as i wound it the other way.

good idea though

Hi Andy, how did you clean the gauze? when i clean mine i remove the gauze and drop it in a cup of liquid descaler and leave for a few a few hours, also after using the lance i have started removing the foam bottle and running warm water through it after every use to remove any left over soap residue left in the gauze, seems to help the gauze last a bit longer before having to remove again for descaling

Could the tube in the wash bottle is jamming against the bottom, hence hardly any solution coming through. Try cutting the end at an angle. That was a tip I picked up when I got mine. Long shot, but worth a try.

Try adding more soap. Just a suggestion.
