Problem with Karcher K7 lance

Hi
I'm having a problem with the yellow "insert" in my Karcher K7 lance. It stubbornly remains on the spindle in the handle when I remove the lance.

I keep having to extract it, replace it in the lance and turn to lock it in place, but it unlocks when I twist and remove the lance from the handle

Can any of you guys help with a solution, please? TIA

Someone missed the opportunity to switch the water on when you were taking those pictures!

The hole in the fitting looks damaged and rough inside perhaps a very gentle de-burring and clean up might help.
Also you might be able to squeeze the retaining tabs slightly so that they expand in the appropriate direction and grip better when rotated into place.
A little smear of silicone grease on the appropriate fittings/o'rings can also help mating parts go together or come apart.

You could replace the O-ring. You can get yellow tab and o-ring for about £4.50 on ebay or (20 piece) set of four tabs and various Karcher o-rings from ebay for £12.99.
O-ring set of four, £2.75.
