I don't know anyone who has access to Nat Geo, but I'm hoping to snatch
a glimpse at some point. There's a guy running a car showroom in the town
with a white one. Rumour has it that he wants £16K for it.

However, the car is lowered and is not recognisable under the bonnet. It does
have a couple of OEM+ touches I liked, but I don't expect the showroom space
to be vacated any time soon. Some of the parts are getting stupid prices, like
a ton for the 6 outer pieces of plastic that secure the rear side-windows?

Looks like my fuel leak has been sorted, so I might do a bit of cleaning ahead
of my detailing day next weekend.

Regards,
Steve

Anyone notice the rear bumper on their black, factory original/mint concourse reference example - looked like it had rubber trim infills that were bubbling ??

All the feedback I've heard about the programme is pretty positive, so I'm
looking forward to it coming to C4 / M4 later in the year.

In many cases it is easier to mask the infills and paint them, rather than
remove them and find a tape to re-secure them with no gap twixt infill and
bumper. I've got the latter problem, which was forced on us for the front
because of a bumper exchange.

Steve

So, you have a car show commitment the next day and of course you spend
most of the day in preparing your car. After all, this one is just up the road, so
it's all pretty easy. Then, from nowhere, the heavens open!!!

I can't be putting the car away wet either, but the paint doesn't look too bad
under the rain drops. Here's hoping for a finer day tomorrow...

Regards,
Steve

Its good that all you are worried about now is some rain drops - a far cry from a month ago

Some underneath pictures...

With the car round at Karl's workshop for a few more snagging items to be sorted,
I took the opportunity to take some pictures under the car, mostly to keep an eye
on any areas needing protection. The rear suspension beam now needs a quick
coating of Bilt Hamber Dynax C and a couple of nuts and bolts need a squirt of
some ACF 50, otherwise, it's looking pretty tidy under there.

If I get an opportunity, I'll be having a go at removing some of the accumulated paint
shop dust, though it isn't as bad as I'd imagined. The biggest mystery on the snagging
list is why the car still jumps out of 5th gear. The end cap has been off and suspect bits
replaced, with no apparent effect. Also on the list is the choke flap sticking shut.

Regards,
Steve

Has it only happened since all the work or did it do it before? It's usually the linkage that causes it but I've had one where it was the rear engine mount had gone and it caused it to jump out of gear if you accelerated to hard. It could be a bearing in the box I guess aswell. Hope you get it sorted.

ah that view brings back memories. Car wouldn't start one day, changed the fuel filter and started perfectly, seems it was just too full of muck (even though I rarely let any car get below 1/4 before filling up again!)

As always though, looks good mate hope you have lots of years service out of it. Shame I haven't got any pictures of my old one to hand.
