Here is some more work I did on the car yesterday evening.

I had ordered some things from the stealership, which arrived. They were mostly new door handles, electrical window switches and a tailgate trim. Let's see how it went.

Heavily scratched door handle - not by me of course

This could not stay like this as you can tell

Started removing the door card

Wont be staying in the car

Fresh stuff

Yeap, that's more like it

And same goes for passenger side door handles and switch

Before - possibly from some kind of deodorant

During

And afterwards, all in place

I also changed this piece, which was not cheap at all - but let the interior down a bit, so had to be done

oem GTI / .:R32 Black piece

And lastly, wheels needed to be smartened up a bit . . .

So, from this

I found my Carbon Fiber OZ caps, and also bought some OEM Vag Wheel Bolt caps, and finished it off like this

Yes, much better, dont you think

Cheers everyone.

I might do it when I remove wheels to clean arches. Not a thing. Done it in the past too. Easily doable.

Use the appropriate products in the rear window and you wont have that thing again.
Hmmmm sounds rather like a case of aesthetics taking priority over safety, but each to his own I guess

I think doc lives in a place that never rains.
Correct me if I am wrong

Anyways, its nice to see the golf turning up the way it supposed to be.
How come you didn't plasti dipped the handles?

Will you be doing any correction on paintwork?

LoL, you are funny. So I guess all sedans are dangerous too not having a rear wiper ? LoL again. Then again, you must have not heard of products like Rain-X.

Oh well, to each his own information on things he hasnt tried himself.

I wanted it oem new. That is why.
I will be doing some correction on the paintwork. Not that the car is needing it badly, but just for fun.

What hp did have to start with?

Love it, I have a tornado red four door, great car just need to sort out a few rattles. Never seen that interior colour, looks good

I'm looking to get front sensors and tpms sorted soon, I don't have the optic system so trying something bespoke....will post when I get round to it.

Good thread!
