Hello all,
During this past week I've had the pleasure of carrying out a New Car Preparation Detail on Steve's new Skoda Superb Laurin&Klement TDI DSG 4x4 Estate.
It's always great to receive a new car still with the transport wrapping still attached - no defects to worry about caused by substandard dealership valeting!
Here she is on arrival -

First job was to remove the transport wrap, excluding the gloss black pillar trims.

Then on with the usual 3-bucket wash process, decon and drying stages involving - Dooka washpad, Autofinesse Lather, Autosmart Red7, Autosmart Tardis, Polished Bliss luxury drying towel and the trusty dog dryer.
Into the unit and it was time for the Scangrip light to earn its keep - highlighting any areas of paint which needed fettling. This resulted in about 10 green tape markers - nothing serious just light defects, for example a scuff style mark on the bootlid no doubt caused by the hanging of a trade plate from the rear wiper, or some marring around the drivers door handle.
The only factory defect being some machine polishing holograms on a lower door moulding.

The whole car then received a light machine polish using Rupes pads and polishes followed by a Gtechniq Panel Wipe down prior to the best bit - coating application.
First up as the base layer - Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light

Followed by the top coat - Gtechniq EXOv3

Not forgetting the gloss black pillar trims - these can go one of two ways - fitted to the car with the wrapping already attached by the supplier (zero defects) or wrapped after fitting to the car (defects present)
Thankfully these were from the former camp

At this point the glass was deep cleaned and the first layer of Gtechniq G1 was applied.
All carpets and carpet mats were protected with Gtechniq I1

Dashboard wiped down, centre console touchscreen de-stickered & interior glass surfaces polished to remove factory fitting halo's.
Seats were de-bagged, hoovered and protected with Dr Leather Dye Block
