Yes I bought it from the Mazda garage that had received it as a part exchange

So after picking the car up on Thursday I have been enjoying the car, save to say I love it! So glad I made the change now, really happy Few surprises with the car too, from the test drive I noticed the sound of the exhaust was slightly different to standard so thought it had been altered, maybe a centre removed or something along the lines as the exhaust was that dirty I couldn't see any markings on it, however I looked really closely when I got the car back home and noticed the words Miltek on each tip I was so happy with the discovery as it really is a nice exhaust, not too loud when just driving around but put your foot down and you know about it

After reading a number of different threads and signing up on mk5gti.co.uk I then started looking around at things I could do.

The first thing I saw was the euro cup holder mod which I really like the look of, it really tidies the interior and makes it look complete.

New these parts go for around £80 so I decided to look for alternatives, this led me looking to breakers yards for golfs that had them fitted from factory, I took the trip to Sheffield and managed to find one and buy it.

Heres the car I took it from

All removed

All cleaned up

This will like the finished product

The next thing I went about changing was the interior and number plate lights to LEDs

Rear lights

Front interior lights

I have got to change the footwells, glovebox and vanity lights but there is no rush on these,

The next thing I decided was, GTI inserts for the seats to fill the gap, really happy with this mod

After

Next up was to tackle the Miltek, used wire wool and mercury, will do more on it but was just a quick tidy up

A 50:50 of sorts, not 100% yet but happy for the minute

Will try and update the thread when I can

Nice mods so far on a good looking car!

I do like the mk5, my fav (other than a mk1 obviously)

Still amazes me that to access the door internals it's the outer skin that comes off

Lovely looking car, and a few sensible mods.

Is there something odd about the alignment of the nearside front wing?

Those tips look like they are going to require a lot of work! Imine were the same on my rs4 and i used wire wool and autosol, that seemed to work a treat. I also found access difficult so i lowered the exhaust off its hangers slightly to gain a bit more room

Nice Car mate. I like the subtle mods you've fitted. Really set it all off.
