Blast from the past mk2

Right then been a while since i posted

As some may know the 106 is gone, many reasons why mainly running costs lol

Onwards and upwards tho i now have yet another one of my childhood dream cars, i remember being 8 years old in a scrapyard with my dad sat in one of these and pretending to drive haha always wanted one seeing as my oldest brother had one as did my mother

So without further ado here is the new project

And the best part

Love this thing it drives absolutely superb having all XR2 running gear and poly bushes it feels like a new car yet its 31 years old haha

Only 70k on it too so the shell is quite mint engine is spot on too only mod being the sportex 4-2-1 manifold and the electronic fuel pump

Ive had a few issues to sort on it the past couple of weeks mainly wiring faults and a seized auto choke but other then that its been faultless to drive and a complete pleasure exactly how id imagined it really but better haha

Not many pictures have been taken but since i bought it i have done some detailing in the engine bay and changed that horrid none standard air box for a nice K&N

Also changed the alternator as it stopped charging haha

Plans are basically in my usual fashion make a full xr2 replica and take it on many drives out to places haha

More soon as many parts are on order

Right 1st off, where are you finding these wee gems and what's left for the rest of us

2nd please don't go down the replica route, it's been done to death, keep it sleeper original and you will make money hand over fist if/when you sell it

Looking forward to this one bud

Haha just pure luck i think
And see im torn between two decisions because part of me thinks the same keep it sleeper style and clean, but then i really love how the XR2 looks and id never be able to afford one with the prices there at haha

Its going to be going in for a respray anyway so i think ill have to decide then lol
