Removing adhesive from a MOHS+ coated car

Hi all,

My front license plate is attached with some 3M tape. I plan to remove the tape for a more permanent mounting solution soon, but there will be some adhesive left behind.

Is it safe to use white spirits or something like that to remove the adhesive, or will it damage the the MOHS+ coating?

I'm thinking no, it won't damage the coating, because Gyeon Q2M Tar uses some kind of petroleum distillate and I know that it's safe on a coated car. Maybe I could even just try using Q2M Tar first?

What do you guys think?

Thanks for your help!

I have removed tar successfully on a MOHS coated vehicle with little or no effect on the coating so i would try Q2M Tar as you thought, just soak some make up pads in it and stick to the adhesive, leave for 5-10 mins and it will come off real easy .

Give a spritz of cure after just to keep things going

I'm Confused why this is an issue? Won't you use fish wire to get the thing off or so and then just work on a tiny spot with the glue, where you can just apply a bit of coat after?
