It's built to last, and everything about it is high quality. The other real positive - the Lexus dealership are a million steps beyond every dealer I have ever been to and customer service is their top priority, really exceptional.

The first of the trim clips arrived today - expecting quite a few other bits and bobs soon too, wheels due to be delivered tomorrow and collecting the car from the detailers tonight (pity it's pouring down ).

Got some progress pics back from the detailer - looks like a great improvement and well worth the few days of work going into it I think (I should add this is all on new paintwork that's not been well polished by the bodyshop):

Indeed. The detailer could not really believe the condition of it, especially inside.

Once the plate disappears (16 days and waiting for the DVLA so far!!!) it could be any age.

It's a great "waft" mobile but luckily is also a performance beast. 341 bhp is plenty for me - and there is no lag thanks to the hybrid system.

Will post some pics of the completed car soon.

Proper alignment on their quality gear, sorted a few issues and noted the camber is not great, but not worrying (and said it causes zero issues) - would need to either fit some bits to adjust, or possibly change the bushes but it's well within Lexus tolerance so fine to leave! They also rotated my tyres for me.

Decided I needed a set of black mats for the car for winter, a boot trim, and some other bits and bobs - off the eBay!

After some negotiating and shopping around, I managed to bag the boot trim for £10 delivered and a set of mats for £30 delivered from a breakers in Lithuania. Done, and better than £110 for mats from Lexus (or cheap non-branded ones) and I don't even want to know how much the trim would be.

I also ordered various types if boot and bumper trim clips, to sort out some of the missing clips. Clips from Lexus are outrageously expensive.

Next up, I am planning to fit Winter Wheels to the car, so managed, with a bit of shopping around, and negotiating, to find a full set of Lexus GS450h wheels, in reasonable condition (3 with good matching tyres) for a brilliant £250 delivered. They are due this week. The wheels are just over £400 a piece from Lexus.

Firstly, love the car...very executive inside and bet its like being on a cushion of air.... but have to ask....

Is the geezer in the pick wearing a monkey mask or is it my eyes.... lol...

enjoy it anyway... oh and nice informative write up... thanks...

Thanks Sata.

He had a hat on, then a hoodie and the pic makes him look gaunt - no monkey mask

Well, a brilliant job was done by Shine Car Care, Bo'ness. They spent days and did a 2 stage machine polish, plus a quick clean of the interior, engine bay plastic, wheels tyres and G-Technique coating on the glass.

Here are some pics taken as I picked it up and it started to rain (again!) - forgot to get some in the workshop/detailing bays. I also have two beading videos when I got it home for your enjoyment/pornographic reference

Apologies for the reflections of me - and the rain drops - but it gives you a good idea of the depth of paint finish and gloss even on such a dull day.

I'll upload the videos as soon as I can get them uploaded
