Hi,needing a bit of advice on the machineing end of things, after each stage is it ok just to wipe off the excess with a MF or would a panel wipe or cleaner be best before the next stage, thanks in advance:thumb:

If you mean going from cutting to finishing polish stages then just a MF would be fine, just make sure it's soft and not likely to marr the surface, rub it on a cd to test if need be, once the panels are ready for the last step product (sealant or wax) then give a wipe down with Isopropanol to remove any oils.:thumb:
Hi i tryed DA ing for the first time and i used my new MACallister from b and q and a combo of lime prime and menz yellow pad, i first did it on my dads renault van then on my audi A3 which is lava grey. when finished polishing and buffed off after a few minutes a kind of haze forms that messes with the light a bit like marring. what caused this as my combo isnt the most abrasive!
Sounds like buffer trails or holograms, can be caused by not working the polish for long enough, try priming up the pad first by rubbing the LP well into the pad, then take a slow approach and try not to take the speed up above 1500rpm then work thoroughly until clear, due to the slight abrasive nature of LP it sounds like it hasn't been fully broken down.
I've had issues before using LP by rotary on certain paints, if the above doesn't work then a different/dedicated finishing polish may be required.
Hi im struggling with a new car done loads of detailing in the past on my own and other peoples cars always had good results. I have a black bmw and cannot remove hollowgraming tried by machine and today focusing on the bonnet by hand it still will not shift any ideas ive tried assorts im using meguiars ultimate compound atm b
What pads and compound do you have, you might have soft paint which will make it harder to remove the hollow grams. Is your paint jet black non metallic??
Your right, german paint can be hard, but jet black am assuming it is, can be soft, so what Compound&polish are you using? Also what MF pads you using( cutting, or finishing pad:thumb:
I would use Lime Prime lite ideally with a machine polisher, if not microfibre cloth. For black I would do it 3 times with Dodo Lime Prime Lite and wash between stages then apply a quality wax like Purple Haze Pro.
It's all in the prep so make sure the vehicle has been clayed thoroughly.
Good luck.

Here's a Jaguar that covered 114,000 miles, it was tired to say the least....
Jag looks mint! Is that by machine tho? I have dodojuice lime prime just not lite?? I only have a aldi special polishers 10" cheapo but was using foam pad on it. Like i said im trying by hand now with meguiars ultimate compound is that too harsh or not harsh enough??
Lime Prime lite has know abrasive so it will only cleanse the paint and not remove the hollow grams , you need something that has some cutting ability like Meg's D300 or Sonax perfect finish on a white Hex logic pad.
Holograms that you are creating sounds like either -
-Technique (trying to rush)
-Dirty pads being used (the slightest contaminant will re-mark your paintwork)
-Microfibres you are using are not soft enough so are marring / swirling your paintwork
In the circumstances being described above (OP still getting holograms) - LP whilst technically is a pre wax cleanser, it's nice and oily (so good for soft paints) and can correct paint a little if worked long enough due to the abrasives it contains
Ok i was under the impression it was a polish so im going to halfords today to get some micro fibres what polish do you guys recommend from there that will easily correct the issues but not too harsh that needs to be machined thanks
Went over 3 times with megs uc today then followed with black hole then rainforest rub wax looked brill in the shade like a mirror really deep black reversed into sunlight n BAM covered in swirls and hollowgraming [emoji24]
When using Ultimate Compound, does the pad or cloth turn black?
Are you using something to wash or wipe down the panels after polishing?
Are you sure the paint was perfectly clean before polishing?
What are you using to apply the UC?
Im using a foam pad on my aldi da polisher and no it is not turning black in the slightest. Im ocd at washing 2 bucket method and have clayed every panel before polishing. Im using microfibres to buff off
If you are not getting any paint on the pad then this would suggest the paint is not single stage.
I wonder how much of an influence the Aldi polisher is playing here, do you have any specs or details about this machine
