Storm Grey Clio 172 Track Car

So my old Megane R26 I put some love, sweat and cash into went around 10 moths ago :-(

It was due a cage to be fitted and then I would have probably forged the engine.

I decided to sell it for some reason and went out and bought a qashqai for the family as the missus drove me and the 2 little ones around in her car.

I didnt think I'd miss track days and some fun on the roads

But I did so I had to get myself a little toy to and that was a Clio 172.

Needed some work as it was at the ring and had a few bumps so body work needed some fixing.

I'll let the pics and updates tell the rest as its changed since I picked it up.

Thanks

My old thread for my Megane R26 and my qashqai

Storm Grey Clio 172 Track car

When I picked it up

Had all the damage repaired and needed to clean out the interior as it was in a state.
Stripped out the rear and added a boot floor carpet as I was removing the rear seats ready for a rear cage going in.

Nice!

I know of this Storm Grey 172, was it the one on CS?

Look forward to seeing where this goes!

I used to own this car years ago when it was Monaco blue. Had a green powdercoated theme in the engine bay

Fuel rail connector was broke so fitted a new one. Was a pain to fit but go there.

Swapped over rear dampners as one was leaking. Fitted OE cup ones

Roof, front bumper middle and rear bumper insert wrapped gloss black and matte black sun visor fitted

Flocked hazard panel

It was time to fit some new brakes as all needed replacing.
OE rear discs and pads, HC brembos and DS 1.11 pads for the front and braided lines and super gold fluid

My mechanic told me my subframe supports where missing so next job was to track some down and get them fitted. Found some and cleaned them up and some new fittings. Had to drill the old bolts out as they had snapped in then shell.

Next job was a new filter set up as the feed for the front bumper was missing so I fitted a set up slot use called the fatty induction kit. It's cheap and sound great.

To fit this kit I had to fit a smaller battery as the one that come with it was to big.

More coming soon, it gets better :-)
