So another saga with the fueling !

I got the second hand fuel pump housing afew weeks ago and bought a new fuel pump but when trying to get the old fuel pump out the metal pipe from the pump to the filter snapped so new pipes needed again !

Looked in various places and couldnt find any replacements only stainless braided ones from vw heritage so bit the bullet and bought a pair of them
Expensive but very nice !

SOOOOOOO...……… Good news new fuel pump new braided pipes all fitted upto the second hand housing and onto the car and finally no leaks

Managed to get it fired up and running still abit lumpy but need to do the service on it next along with the water pipe and coolant reservoir with new coolant.

So far so good

The little lad was interested in what was going on

On another note I've been keeping an eye out for some wheels to replace the fox racing 5 spokes and came across three bbs ra's with decent tyres in Gainsborough so not too far from Sheffield, there were only 3 due to the other getting nicked so the guy just advertised them as they were.

Given them a quick clean and they don't look too bad I want to refurb them eventually but that's a way off yet !

You'll probably need to replace fuel injector seals as well.
Add to your next VW Heritage order.

Had a productive weekend just gone on the mk2

First off was to replace the old water hose that had a hole in it and replace the crappy coolant reservoir and flush the old fluid out to be replaced with some fresh vw g13.

Much better !

Also swapped over the old wheels for the ra's just need to find a fourth to complete the set !

I quite liked the 5 spokes but wanted to have it looking more original

I managed to get it started again after trying for a while and finding out the fuel pump relay had decided to play up, luckily found a spare in the glovebox that worked so got it fired up and got the coolant circulated and settled.

And finally when looking through some old pictures I realised that we have lived in this house for ten years and when we bought it in 2008 I had a mk2 gti 16v and a mk4 golf R32, now 10 years down the line and afew car in between ve got a mk2 gti 16v and a mk5 golf R32

I was selling the mk5 earlier on this year but decided to keep it

Good project!, as someones already said have you checked the lift pump in the fuel tank is working?, it supplies the swirl pot underneath the car.

I burnt out a brand new main pump due to failed lift pump.

Only real way to check is to pull the feed pipe off the fuel pump sender and run a pipe into a jug while caranking engine over.

Deffinitely worth checking as it will still run with a faulty lift pump but the main pump won't last long..
