That is what a barn find should be!!

Did you know the car was stored and had an eye on it or was it a lucky coincidence of right place and time?

Thank you, I saw the car on the road 8 years ago, it looked mint, so gollowed it, explained to the owner I was a committee member of a Renault club and I knew exactly what the car was and how much I liked them, gave him my business card saying if you ever sell it I would be interested, to which he replied that will be when he has passed away.

Sadly he passed away in November, the son called me saying they want to sell it, I went to look at it with the idea to help the family sell it, I knew it would be to expensive for me, I gave the family my honest valuation of the car and offered to help sell it, I said I would love it, but would afford it’s valua as I was getting married in a couple of days... I said what I could afford and they rightly turned it down, the next day the wife said could I afford x amount I said at a push yes, she said we will accept that. They got a good price, I got a good price.

Back in the day when I had mine it was regularly commented on by total strangers. Despite having owned tidy cars since none have attracted as much attention as that little 5 got turbo did.

Such a great find Chris. I'm glad it's in your hands.

I had no idea the MVX tyres were being reproduced. I can finally replace me shady Camac tyres

I am so pleased to have the car, just need some time to clean it and photograph it well as it’s sitting in the carcoon and is a faff to take out.

Now this has brought back some memories for me! I owned one of these when I was a youngster, same colour too (minus the graphics). I'd have to say, probably my favourite car that I've ever owned.

Will you ever drive it? That car is meant to be driven! Although I understand the reasons for wanting to preserve it... lovely, lovely, little car!
