Smile 2005 Audi A4 (b6) Cabriolet 3.0 V6

I have not been on this forum in a very long time. Some will remember me from back in the day when i was actively running Prism Detailing, but decided to move away from detailing and follow my other passion of Snowboarding and spent the last 3-4 years instructing. In that time i have hardly "detailed" any cars including my own. I stop detailing as a business when i lost the love for it, this was also at the time i broke my neck. I have been driving a 2008 Skoda Octavia vRS CR170 remapped to 220bhp. A really fun car, performance and amazing fuel consumption but just didnt have the same interest in keeping it amazing, it became a workhorse, getting me from A-B.

In February I had an unexpected seizure (first one) which was severe and lost much of my memory. I was diagnosed with epilepsy so meant i cannot drive for a year then i was tested and unfortunately the true extend was discovered and diagnosed with a Brain Tumour. This really puts life into perspective as i await the date for my operation to have it removed, knowing the risks involved.

As a distraction whilst i wait for the operation and possibly after I got myself a little project. If anyone remembers JenJen on here, I bought her 2005 Audi A4 Cabriolet from her with 83k and a decent service history for a cracking price.

When I went to collect it:

when i got it home had to start right away (sure my father hated me as it was starting to rain lol) Initial snowfoam with Autofinesse Avalanche, followed with a wash with Soft99 Natural Creamy Shampoo, then decontamination with Autofinesse Iron Out:

Thanks for viewing, lots more to come....

I remember you and JenJen. So sorry to hear about your neck, and then the seizure and then the tumour. However, it is not the end of the world (although I'm sure there are days it might seem like it!) as my cousin had a large brain tumour, had it operated on and she has been living a full and almost normal life - with constant checks - for the last 16 years! Keep your chin up and I look forward to seeing more of the Audi!
Cheers

Next was the hood. Initially i cleaned this was Meguiars APC and strubbed but i felt it didnt clean it enough:

So i had some Renovo Hood Restorer in black, so i got to re-dye the hood:

the sun came out so had to move the car to the shade to continue:

Once dried then applied Gtechniq I1:

It rained that night and next morning i check the hood and felt the Gtechniq just wasnt doing as well as i hoped. So as crude as it might be for on here, I opted for using Fabsil which didnt cause any issues to the finish and the repelling the water fantastically:

Funny enough im in acceptance of whatever will be will be. Being within the snowboarding community for the last few years im pretty mellowed out and stress free. The prognosis is good, there are always risks with brain surgery but im sure it will all be good. but thanks

Now onto the headlights, obviously over time they had weathered a a bit:

I had previously used the Meguiars 1 step headlight restoration kit on my fathers BMW 330i with great results but these headlights were really bad in comparison. So i used 800grit wetsanding then 1200grit and followed by 2000grit:

Then i polished with my Festool ShineX and a Lakecountry wool pad using Scholl Concepts S3 Gold, followed by Chemical Guys Hex Logic pad (medium cut) with Scholl Cencepts S15+ which gave me the finish i was hoping for:

I didn’t neglect the car, promise. Normally my cars are well looked after but sadly life took over and I just didn’t know how to do certain things and didn’t have the resources but glad Robert can make her beautiful again. She’s a stunning car with plenty of miles on her to goZ
