Great thread, oh the memories of caps and guns etc. I haven't seen one of those rockets for 40 years or so. Cheers.

I wonder when someone will post a picture of a huge bog otter and ask if you can all smell that?

I am not even going to ask............

You guys sound like the generation where a Wagon wheel was BIG and a Mars bar was 3 times the size it is now for the equivalent of 3p.

You drank water from a hose pipe. Got kicked out of the house and told to come back before it got dark. Walked or caught a bus to school. No computers. No mobile phones. 2 channels on the TV, even that was in Black and white. Called the teachers 'sir' had to stand up if the headmaster came in. Health and safety was restricted to hospitals. No safety evaluation reports before you made a cup of tea. ( I kid you not I had to pass one of those tests)

I am sure you could add more...........

Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Lol

And, Curly Wurly bars were about a foot longer than they are now. And your chopper would wheelie if you just leaned back a wee bit too far. And you had to tune the tv like an old wireless.

My wee son asked me one day, “Did you have a bike when you were a wee boy, Dad?”
I replied “I did indeed son, it was black and gold.”
My son said “How did you know what colour it was?”
Me - “What??”
He said “Sure wasn’t everything black and white in the olden days.”

Olden days??? He’s been grounded until he is 18 lol.

I was talking to a girl of about 26. There is a pub locally called the Gloucester Old Spot. Long conversation short.

Did she know that the Gloucester old Spot is a pig breed? No.

I said the pork makes good sausages. Do sausages come from pigs! Eweeew, yuk

I kid you not she seemed to think the pig lay sausages like a hen lays eggs. Yet she is not thick. Just a victim of todays education, or lack of it. Dred to think of where she thinks eggs and milk come from. She would probably turn vegan.
