Winter wash

Hi all,

I know the shampoo question has been done to death but I was wondering if there is any better shampoo for use when the roads are salty? They heavily salt the roads here.

Already ordered the BH Atom mac to help protection of the undercarriage and discs etc but wondered about the body. I know that a good winter protection helps but really the question is is there a shampoo that helps a very salty environment?

Thanks,

I would suggest a decent pre wash during winter applied with pressure sprayer before each wash. I use Koch Chemie Green Star which is highly rated on here. BH Auto wash is another one people like i have never tried it myself

It's BH Auto Foam I believe he should've been referring to, not Auto Wash which is a shampoo.

Auto Wash has rust inhibiting properties:

Quote:
auto-wash is anti-corrosive to bare steel too, ideal for owners of older vehicles which may have stone chips or exposed areas of mild steel. This is also an advantage in modern cars where the entrapment of corrosive elements carried by some detergents in folded seams accelerates the corrosion of modern vehicles.
I'm not aware of any other shampoo that offers this, or at least any that call it out as a specific feature (which you would think they would do if they did!) There is AMMO Boost (which is an additive specifically designed to help with high salt environments as found in the US) but it's only available via personal import from the US, which would not be very cost effective unless you wanted to get some other AMMO products at the same time.

Yep using the Auto-foam and the wash.

I didn't know that about the shampoo containing anti-corrosives thanks Steel for that, it seems like its the best option.

I like the look of the Ammo stuff and have watched many hours of his videos but like you say expensive to import.

Doesn’t AG claim to have rust inhibitors in their shampoo?

Not that I have been able to find on their site - had a look at all three shampoos ie BSC, Pure and UHD. Useful to know if they do though - perhaps @Autoglym can confirm?
