Mate, with your account of the day, you've just brought me over to Leicester. Brilliant. And if I could have had one for the day today, it would have been perfect. We took the Mourne Coastal Route from Warrenpoint up to Newcastle, it was a lovely drive, but would have been a fantastic drive in a buggy.

Delighted that you have it back out in the sunshine chum.

Health to enjoy (again) bud.

Not much to update on this either....have just been driving it really!

Been after some stainless steel torsion bar end caps for ages. Managed to pick up some cheap from another forum. Brand new. Needed to get some stainless steel bolts too but once I got them, it looked like this....more shiny stuff!!

Well,

Its taken a bit of soul searching, but the buggy is for sale and i have someone who is very interested in it, albeit with a std VW engine. Which is ok, as someone is coming this weekend to look at the Corvair engine. Whether it comes off or not, i dont know. Will see if they actually turn up as they say.

Its a real shame but the buggy just doesnt get used. In 5 years, its done 2.5k miles. Such a great toy but it sits in the garage 10 months of the year. It needs to be with someone who will use it. I need the space for the 306 bits anyway.

So, i may, or may not, be the owner of it for much longer.

That maybe Henry, that maybe. Have a feeling it won't come off anyway. Guy said he'd be in touch today as he was HPI'ing it and stuff (it's a 48 year old beetle chassis that's been completely rebuilt for goodness sakes!) and gone radio silent. Few red flags there.

But, I need the space, I had most of my fun building it and the money will come in very useful if I'm honest.....

Lovely! I really enjoyed reading the thread and it's a real shame to find at the end that you are making moves to sell. Eventually these will be a real asset and hard to come by, even if unused is there no space for it to occupy at all? As yourself and others have mentioned, it will only ever end in regret! Unless the sale is for something very worthy of course.

Thanks for the comments bud. As for hard to come by? Well, perhaps not. There are still new shells being made today so they are readily available.

Space is the killer at the mo. I need more room in the garage for the 306 project. The cash would come in handy in progressing the build too, but its mainly a room thing.

That and the fact that i feel the buggy just needs to be used more than it is! Real shame to keep it hidden away butnif im really honest with myself, i think the pleasure was in the building/making rather than enjoying the end product.....
