Toss up between these two ROTARY POLISHERS....

Have been looking at these two bits of kit... both seem to have good reviews (a bit of moaning at the higher speed start on the dodo..... what are your opinions and experiences??

I've got the ep801, it's a very good machine for the money, can't comment on the other one.

I havent used any of the two, but I would choose the EP801 due to the lower start up speed (700 RPM).

Not tried either machine but going from only the specs I would say the EP801 seems to be better as it has a lower minimum speed (as A&J highlighted) and a upgraded backing plate. It is not easy to tell from the pictures but the Dodo machine seems to have the standard thin backing plate which is not that useful. Unlike a DA, a backing plate makes a big difference and will cost £20-30 so if the EP801 has one then you have just saved a few quid.

If budget is not a problem then get the 3M one, it is very good as are the 3M pads. They are not cheap and feel as if they will be too soft but are perfectly matched to a rotary but not so great with a DA

I've had the Spindoctor (version 1) for a few years now. It's light weight and I find the digital speed display very useful. I don't find the start speed an issue at all. I like the look of the version 2. Either of the rotaries on your shortlist will do the job so go for the lightest. Weight makes the biggest difference.
