How to clean lichen from Twillfast canvas

Struggling to find decent help online for this, so thought I'd ask the knowledge base here.

2001 BMW Z3 with Sonnendeck Twillfast Canvas (can anyone confirm the material? It's the original soft top)

There's a load of what appears to be lichen or plant matter of some sort ingrained into the canvas and particularly around the edges/near the boot etc..

What's the best way to restore it to a better semblance of what it used to be?

Thanks

Matt

My mums was like that a few years ago. I got the vacuum cleaner on it to start with then wetted it out with a hose, agitated some upholstery cleaner into it with a few different brushes and rinsed it off.
Once it was dry I used a tent reproofer on it.

You should use a soft top cleaner such as Renovo or autoglym and use a brush to work product in well. Will take a few applications.
