You can pick them up fairly cheap nowadays.
If you have spent a lot on "wax", then this suggestion seems the logical next step, it will make the whole process so much easier and a DA is nothing to be scared of.

I've only been "detailing" properly (nearly properly!) for under a year, so I just wanted to see what I could do by hand before I start spending big bucks on machines - but you are absolutely right - I've found myself inadvertently spending a fair whack on different waxes and other "essentials"!
The other reason I haven't even considered a DA yet is because I can't get the car in the garage and was under the impression that it might be difficult to use a DA outside due to the conditions??
I'm planning to upgrade my PW too in the hope my Karcher K2 gives up the ghost
And also I might have been a bit scared of the DA too!!

I don't have access to a garage that my car can fit in but still manage to use my machines when the weather suits.

I did a winter protection detail on my brothers car on Monday for example.

Pre wash using BH Autofoam.
Wash 2bm using BH Autowash
1stage machine polish using Vertool, White hexlogic pad and Angelwax perfect polish
LSP was BH DSW.

Weather was dry and about 9 degrees.

Took me about 5 hours.

Well Soapy,
perhaps a DA for next year is realistic.
I just wanted to see what I could do by hand - but you've already got me looking at DA starter kits haha
