56k Icon Bentley Continental major overhaul

This car came in for a LOT of work. It had been driven down local lanes and been scraped through some bushes. The list was

Wheel refurb for curb damage
Leather touch up
Paint touch up
Hood deep clean
Paint correction and long life sealant
Interior detail

So on day one it sits like this, after a thorough wash and decontamination

I started with the roof, as it was going to need multiple hits. Using an antimicrobial cleaner and extraction

Then it was placed into the surgery ready for other works to take place. Whilst I spent a few days machining the other tradesmen came in to do their bits, so we all had to work round each other

I started with the bonnet, usual wash defects, some deeper scrubbing, and as we have come to expect the usual prestige car sanding. All compounding was done with detailing kingdom 1.1 on lambswool pads via flex rotary, both 150 and 180 machines

And another one

Then I went down each side, dealing again with the usual wash defects and this time the scrub marks from the bushes

Some etching from the fuel cap

And whatever this thing is, obviously it was too deep to fully remove, but its much better

Typical oem finish, rubbish clarity and da marks

Then down the other side

This was the worse side, so it was done in stages. First on edge to dig out the scratches, then same pad and compound but flat to leave just nice light holograms

Then up front, much the same

DSC_0157 by Matt Rowe, on Flickr

After the compounding was done, it was time to refine. this was done with the flex rotary and finishing pads with sonax perfect finish

Much better

Now time for the sealant. Trying out Daddy O from shine supply. Super slick, glossy and a potential 12 months from a single application. Very impressed.

Whilst it was curing I took care of the "details", dressing tyres, glass, exhausts etc

And finally some afters on collection

And Lazarus-like it rose...

What a job on a car that looked truly trashed! Hat doffing time, again - that is remarkable.
