Just throw yourself in at the deep end Mick The car looks a far cry from what it was and it's clear it'll benefit from the full works in May.

Cracking work mate, glad you're feeling up to the job after the op and you've still got the bug! I'd offer my assistance but you're a fair old distance from Northumberland

Keep at it fella

Decided to wash the car again yesterday and give it a coat of Soft99 water block metallic & pearl but looking at the bonnet in the sun it was very swirly so we decided on a 2 stage polish.

After I gave the bonnet a couple of wipe downs with BH cleaner fluid I done a test spot with the flex 3401 and a 6in LC CCS heavy polishing pad (pink) and KochChemie H8. After 6 passes I realised I was dealing with hard paint as it didn't remove much, so then the MF cutting pad came out with H8 and that removed all of the swirls and scratches.
To refine the finish Scholl S40 on a Rupes white finish pad really brought out the flake and clarity. The sun was making it hard to catch the damage in the first two pictures by my phone but it was very swirled up. In the finish photos you will see how much flake was in the paint.

That last mage is simply stunning, Chongo. That's a hell if a job you've done on that buddy. How do you feel after all that work?
