Exclamation My car of the day, 2018 Kia Sportage.

Kia's Sportage has been around a fair while now so it was due a refresh and this is it. For the first time, a 48 V mild hybrid will be added and it's gained some subtle styling tweaks that are limited to new front and rear bumpers, new headlights with a fresh taillight set-up and full width LED lighting bar that runs the width of the tailgate. New alloy wheel designs are added to the mix in 17,17 and 19 inch in size. The top spec GT-line gets gloss black grille, a more aggressive styling with chrome inserts on the side sills and tailgate, plus twin exhaust tips. A new 2.0 litre diesel is helped by a 48 V battery system which supplements acceleration and also powers the starter generator unit. A newer 1.6 diesel has been added with 113 BHP or 134 BHP which will get all-wheel drive and a seven speed dual clutch auto. Updated tech are adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, 360 degree camera and driver attention warning system. The new sportage will hit UK showrooms in August priced at £20,000.

SB i think you have used the pictures from the old model

God knows how much a 48v battery is going to cost, current stop start ones vary for £180 to £300

Oh and its a no from me.

Not so bad from the outside, but the inside looks a bit drab. Yet another SUV though.

Nope,,, that actually is the facelift,,,, and yip a 48V electric motor hybrid system seems to be the way many are going as Mercedes are looking at this level of Voltage for the new C-Class Hybrid with a 1.5 petrol alongside. 12V will still run the car electrics the Li-ion battery packs will be 48V,,,,

I have a Sportage and the inside is identical. A few changes outside but the big change is the engines. I would have liked a petrol hybrid but for now it's a diesel.

Wow thats beaten Porsche and Audi for facelifts in terms of how little they can change!

Having said that.... I still don't understand how I should say the blooming name!

Is it Kia Sport-aaarjuh or Kia Sportidge? Or neither.
