I think after everyones great advice I am going to leave the car for few months now its protected and make sure I am more educated before I use the polisher on my own car.

To feed my habit I will just turn my attention to restoring my alloys

All for the sake of vanity I'd also suggest you leave it till the winter's over alot of time and effort has gone into protecting the car already get yourself clued up till then.

As above good advice leaving it, getting a practise panel helps if you get the chance, luckily I had an old car to use when I learnt how to polish

One last quick question...

I am going to give the polisher a go on my Mrs old Skoda fabia. I have a small bottle of Meg's 205, and some poor boys 2.5, would the poorboys 2.5 be comparable to the megs 105?

PB 2.5 is a DAT so it breaks down as you polish where as 105 is SMAT
