Diamond Brite 3 years old.

Evening All.
Ive got a few question about Diamond Brite.
The Mrs has just bought a 3 year old Mazda 2 off her mum.
The car was originally brought new by her mum from the dealership.
Her mum opted for the Diamond Brite protection, which was applied by the dealership before purchase.

The cars only done just under 9k and cleaned regularly, but never reprotected in any way, with any product.

My question is this. - what's the best way forwards.

Zaino is my current product manufacture of choice.

Can I just deep clean, clay bar and apply Zaino sealant over the top.
Thanks in advance.

Totally. There is the new meguiars shampoo thats meant to help strip waxes and ingrained dirt etc too, could use that before claying if you are concerned.

Thanks Matt.
I don't really want to polish it all yet.

I'll just give it a good clean, Tardis, ironx and clay
3 coats of Zaino Z2 sealant and see how things go.

Diamond Brite 3 years old.

Treat it as you would anything else. The coating will not be there and wont have been for a long time.

Diamond Brite might be referencing Diamond Kote, a dealer applied sealant. I have a couple bottles of it myself and while it's decent (3-4 months MAX) it's no multi year protection wizard. By now it will be gone, so treat this like any other wash and wax job.

How has it been washed in the 3 years?

Was mum in law a fan of the £5 specials?

What does the paint look like and how do you want too improve it?

If the paint is soft (and Japanese cars tend to be soft paint) claying may induce marring.
